Selling Your Practice
This is where many accountants come unstuck! You wouldn't expect one of your clients, who had no previous experience of dealing with the Inland Revenue, to be able to competently represent himself during an in depth inquiry into his affairs. An expert's input is vital in such a situation. The financial implications of a novice selling his own practice or a block of fees, could be disastrous. Always use a professional.
APMA can assist you in selling your fees with professional advice to ensure you obtain the best returns.

Buying a Practice
Or Block Of Fees
This is the most cost effective way to create or enhance your client base. There can be very few business investments that are capable of giving you a 50% net profit with a payback period of under 2.5 years but worthwhile acquisitions are lost to the less adventurous accountant. And yet, if you respond to a practice being marketed, you are unlikely to be the successful buyer. You could wait years!
With good advice on buying fees, you can convert your investment within months.

Merging Your Practice
We've seen it all. Merging takes place for a variety of reasons, and with differing size firms. Two sole practitioners merge their business interests to increase their profits by enabling a more structured workforce to be put in place and by achieving economies of scale. Larger firms merge to create a bigger critical mass so that specialist added value departments may be established. Other firms are motivated by the need for succession. Whatever the reason, be aware, 50% of partnerships fail so 'compatibility' is the watch word.

APMA Clients
The size of the client's practice or block of fees is not important. Over a two year period Jeremy Kitchin was involved with identifying Foundation Firms for the £12M accountancy practice Consolidator, Vantis Plc., which floated on the alternative investment market (AIM) on May 1, 2002. In April 2003 he brokered the sale of Beavis Walker, the £2.8M London practice. On an earlier occasion he successfully handled the divestment of a block of £3,000 fees from a sole practitioner. We handle a complete range of M & A clients and provide a wide range of consultancy services to them. Click on the link to see a summary of the clients we have serviced during the past decade.
